uncertain mother??[edit]

The article states that it is unknown whether William was the son of his father's first wife (who died in 1287) or of his father's second wife. It goes on to say that William was summoned for military service in 1301. Just checking -- is it original research to calculate that, if William was the son of his father's second wife, he was no more than 13 years old when summoned for military service?--Other Choices (talk) 13:57, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sequence of barony[edit]

Could someone explain how it is that the 2nd Baron Montagu is the father of the 1st Baron Montagu, even though the father pre-deceased the son? Ptilinopus (talk) 22:37, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
