I believe this is incorrect. I recall the F-head Four being fully rated for 4,000 rpm on the highway, and reasonably reliable at that point. There was no tachometer and no governor in light vehicle installations. Because of the tight exhaust ports, it did not readily turn fast enough to hurt itself. Anecdotally I will say that 4800-5000 for an hour is needed to kill it.

The 3200 number may come from a much older version of this engine, or from a heavy-truck or industrial version de-rated for longer working life. If the source can't be verified, best to omit that. 74.65.156.117 (talk) 22:42, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
