Polish?
[edit]I've never heard a Polish version of Wind of Change, and the version on the Polish fansite is definitely in Russian, though with a strange, and non-Russian sounding accent. Here are the lyrics (transcribed to Latin alphabet): [link to copyvio website removed]
When Written?
[edit]In the liner notes to 20th Century Masters: Scorpions it mentions that this song was written before the Berlin Wall fell. I would like another source, but I think that would be worth putting in the article if it can be sourced. I think most people assume it was written as a tribute to the falling of the Berlin Wall, which does not seem to be correct. Konky2000 21:53, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Coke Commercial
[edit]The article suggests the coke add from the 90's just pictures children in the snow. From memory, it was actually about increasing freedom in Eastern Europe and featured a number of associated images. I vaguely remember seeing Russian soldiers, for example. Does anyone remember better? If so, could this be amended? It was a good commercial. I need a Coke. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.220.2 (talk) 11:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Highest Selling Song
[edit]I hardly doubt that, sounds quite unbelievable. Maybe in a certain genre or something like that. I would delete that until there's some proof for that statement. 217.232.228.72 (talk) 20:45, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, i think that this is wrong, too. "Butterfly" by Danyel Gérard won the TV-Show "The successful hit of the last 30 years". So it's not possible that WoC is the most selling single. --Onclemo (talk) 13:47, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Royal signals version
[edit]Does anyone know where there is a copy of this. It would be good to source this part of the article. I am not denying it exists(I have seen it) but i cant seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Stupidstudent (talk) 02:32, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- I found a copy of it on a Vietnamese video site, of all things. [1]Johnmc (talk) 13:11, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
- I have a copy :) It definitely exists.
Article contradictions
[edit]In the third paragraph, it says that the song is "the 10th best-selling single of all time in Germany" while in the section named "Legacy" it says that the song is "the highest ever selling song in Germany". As written, this is obviously a contradiction. So either one of the statements is wrong, or some clarification is needed, as maybe they mean it is the best selling song by a german group, or within a specific genre, or something along those lines. 109.232.208.11 (talk) 10:49, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Claim of CIA creative input
[edit]"Did the CIA write Scorpions’ hit song Wind of Change? This is the wild story of Spotify’s latest original podcast documentary series." I expect there may be some podcast listeners who will want to add this claim to the article. Schazjmd (talk) 18:16, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
That entire section should just be deleted since it lacks relevance and needlessly extends the article. No-name podcasts with no cultural impact should not be added to articles unless they actually significantly impacted whatever media they are about - this podcast / episode does not and should be entirely removed. 2A02:908:1085:BC60:F1C5:4969:DC37:2607 (talk) 18:43, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
Adding the genre "glam metal" to this song
[edit]Hi,
just wanting to know if I can add the genre "glam metal" to this song? Explicitly stated as such on the following reference:

Thanks! AgentKozak (talk) 15:00, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
- This would be completely misleading. Its a rock ballad --FMSky (talk) 15:03, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Update to 2022 lyrics following Russian war with Ukraine
[edit]In the text of the article where the lyrics have been updated, it cites "Now listen to my heart / It says Ukraine".
But if you watch this video where they're singing the new version live, it clearly sounds like "It says Ukrania", and is accompanied by the lyrics on screens at the venu where it is also written this way : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6cwUBJqqns&t=136s I believe that Scorpion used the way Ukraine is pronounced in the Ukrainian language, instead of the was it would be pronounced in English (though this is slight conjuncture on my part).
Should the Wikipedia article show the lyrics as they're written in the article (where they could have been improperly transcribed), or have them as they were sung at the live show (while mentioning that the article referenced used Ukraine instead of Ukrainia)?
