Title of Article[edit]

Given Ireland is operating as a SEM, would it not be more appropriate to entitle the article, and have its focus be on Wind Energy in Ireland (north and South)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.183.62 (talk) 11:44, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Table of wind farms[edit]

I think we should look to tidying up the existing table to improve the quality of data provided. I've removed the words wind farm from the names of each installation as it was redundant. I think we could further improve the table by adding a column for the name of the operating company and a reference link to where the data is sourced from. I think we should also rename the Notes column to Location or maybe County. Declangraham (talk) 18:46, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The list is unnecessarily long in an article, it belongs in a List article, which is now List of wind farms in the Republic of Ireland. TGCP (talk) 21:12, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

GPS[edit]

Hi guys, I see lots of the windfarms in this table have no GPS coordinates. I know where some are, is it as simple as walking down there with gps, writing down the coordinates and putting them up online through the editpage. Is it that easy? There would probably be more locations in the table if that were so, so what is the process here? Do you need a reference? Please help me here. Thanks. Beware of All-Island Figures[edit]

Since the electricty grid is now all-island, a lot of the figures quoted here are also all-island, as opposed to being for the Republic of Ireland. Watch out for this.

I've taken the figure for the intro from Eirgrid, which monitors the grid, and I believe to be more accurate. The figures from the Irish Wind Energy Association are a bit dodgy - they don't often distinguish between the island of Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland, with the result that their figures are a bit unreliable. They also differ slightly from the figures provided by Eirgrid

This page has useful breakdowns of the wind energy generation in Ireland on a month by month and year by year basis, and it's quite clear on what installed capity is where - it's probably better than relying on the IWEA.
