General source citation[edit]

I removed the following from the "History" section of the article. Unfortunately, pointing to a general source (at its extreme, something like "See the Library of Congress") doesn't satisfy Wikipedia's citation requirements. I'm saving the information here for anyone inclined to actually visit this library (which can be done by appointment only) and find specific documentation which they can then cite. Gang-related information[edit]

The 1996 gang incident is well-documented, but I have concerns about it having undue prominence - see WP:UNDUE. The solution to that is probably to add information to the article, rather than delete information about this incident.

Whether Windsor still has gang activity is a factual question. This 2005 Press Democrat article does mention Windsor still having a gang, but that's almost 10 years ago. I do note that for the eight years between 2005 and 2012 [the latest year for which there is information], according to city-data.com, there was a total of one homicide in Windsor. City-data.com also lists overall crime rates for Windsor and six of the other eight incorporated cities in Sonoma County; Windsor has the lowest crime rate of all seven. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 18:30, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
