Northeast Regional incorrect termini[edit]

I don't know how to fix this, but all Amtrak stations between New Haven and Springfield list Roanoke, Norfolk, and Newport News as southern termini of the Northeast Regionals serving these stations. This is not the case, as only trains to or from Roanoke serve Springfield. The Norfolk and Newport News Regionals terminate only in Boston South Station. Is there a way to fix this so that Roanoke is the only terminus listed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpotisch (talkcontribs) 23:10, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cpotisch: Thanks for bringing this up! What about 157 on Sundays though? That train starts in Springfield and ends in Norfolk. There are also a few Regionals that start in Washington but we don't include them because WAS is between the stations on the New Haven–Springfield Line and the three VA termini. Therefore, I propose it be changed to "Norfolk or Roanoke". –Daybeers (talk) 23:49, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Daybeers:Since there is literally one Springfield to Norfolk train, operating in one direction one day a week, how about something like "Norfolk (limited service) or Roanoke"?
I disagree - the template should be left as-is. We should not be trying to display every single service pattern on the Northeast Regional. (Almost every train makes a slightly different set of stops.) Whether or not there is direct service from Windsor Locks to any of the listed stations is not of import to Wikipedia; only the Northeast Regional system as a whole is important. Firstly, sorry about forgetting to sign my posts. But I disagree that this stuff doesn't matter. If it's not too much trouble, I think that we should do as much as we can to make this stuff as accurate possible. And if memory serves there are a few NEC stations listed as having "limited service", so clearly going into that much detail makes sense in at least a few cases. I think this could go either way. While theoretically one could take a Regional from Springfield to NYP or something and switch to one that goes to Newport News, I don't think that justifies putting in incorrect information in Wikipedia articles. You can't take a (one-seat) NER from Springfield to Newport News. Also, thanks for signing your post, Cpotisch! –Daybeers (talk) 00:11, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So is there a way to change the template for the Springfield branch of the NER?Cpotisch (talk) 12:26, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
