Hallowed ground[edit]

re. "Winter Quarters is considered hallowed ground for the members of the LDS Church". Can it be clarified wether this is a literal hallowed or a metaphorical hallowed. GlassWax (talk) 13:38, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

wikt:Hallowed, as in made sacred, holy, sanctified because of what the Latter Day Saints experienced there; not in the sense of a consecrated object/place in the Roman Catholic Church, such as a shrine, blessed ground, or churchyard/graveyard. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 20:29, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
