The bottom line is that nonprofit and educational organizations should be allowed to create and maintain Wikipedia articles about their programs and services. Ususally, we have neither advertising budgets nor sales, and in the most fundamental sense of the term "conflict of interest" there is none.
If Wikipedia editors continue to delete articles writtn by the nonprofit community about their programs and services, the project will get dumber and dumber. Unfortunately, I believe this dumbing down of Wikipedia is already taking place. Holy Cow! Wired for Books is an American literary institution. It amazes me that it would even be considered for deletion. Yet another sign of Wikipedia's hostility to writers (see my rant against it here http://www.imaginaryplanet.net/weblogs/idiotprogrammer/?p=83399148 ).Robert J Nagle (talk) 05:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
