Now that there's a 2007 printing, it might be useful to update this entry. --Habap 21:37, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Undue weight seen in discussion of mutilation incident

I'm thinking seriously about deleting this incident as is presently written in the article. I found that the article discussion about mutilation of war dead has three problems. First it is unreferenced. Second, as a tiny snippet from minor, even trivial bit of the story, it shows undue weight. Third, it creates a slanted point of view about the book since it entirely neglects both Sledge's introspection and his discussion with an officer about moral implications of mutilation of the dead. Sledge's book is a very deep but often understated introspective about young men just out of childhood being trapped in warfare, not a shoot-em-up. So the article doesn't need to read like a gee-whiz teaser for a movie. Other opinions?Trilobitealive (talk) 18:58, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Seems fine the way it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.56.102.101 (talk) 21:00, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Tell me more please, User:166.56.102.101. How does it improve the article while remaining in accordance with the principles of WP:DUE? Trilobitealive (talk) 19:16, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
