Which magazines belong to this article[edit]

There are five magazines that could be discussed here: Air Wonder, Science Wonder, Wonder, Thrilling Wonder and the 2007 incarnation. Different bibliographers treat them differently. I think Ashley, in his recent books, is the first one to actually index them together. The Nicholls Encyclopedia has separate articles on each of the first four; though it does say that Thrilling could be considered a continuation of Wonder because of the volume numbering.

I think all the first four on that list are OK to include here, and I will rephrase the lead to make this a little clearer in the opening sentence. The fifth, the 2007 incarnation, seems to me to be a separate entity completely, but since it's probably not particularly notable in its own right, perhaps a paragraph here is the best way to treat it. I am also including Science Wonder Quarterly / Wonder Stories Quarterly, as they are just offshoots and would not benefit from independent coverage. I'm not including Wonder Story Annual as it was more closely related to Fantastic Story Quarterly; it was a reprint magazine. Mike Christie (talk) 23:58, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To do for FA[edit]

  • Rewrite lead
  • Clarify story of Gernsback using the subscription list to advertise; info in Davin, Bleiler.
  • Clean up "reasons for merger"; clumsy transition from reason for title change to reason for merger.
  • Expand influence section
  • Check for under and overlinking
  • Check on cover image copyrights and add images
  • Check for reprint anthologies and list any

Where was the magazine printed / published?[edit]

It would be good to have some information on where the magazine was printed / published, in the lead. So far, one can only guess that it very probably appeared in the United States. --Hans Dunkelberg (talk) 11:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good point; I added "American" in the first sentence. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 11:54, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have replenished that at Technical Error. --Hans Dunkelberg (talk) 22:53, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

An infobox was recently added; I don't think it benefits the article, and per User talk:Shortride#Infoboxes for Wonder Stories and Amazing Stories others agree they're not always useful, though the additional comment there was actually about Amazing Stories. I'll leave this notice here for a day to see if anyone else comments before removing it. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 12:02, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm flabbergasted to find yet another featured article without an infobox... --Randykitty (talk) 19:07, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
