Death in childbirth[edit]

This anesthesiologist at Woodhull, Dmitry Shelchkov, made repeated mistakes in delivering babies, one of which finally caused a fatality in 2020. He lost his license in 2021. This death got extensive media coverage and demonstrations by community activists.

A Deadly Epidural, Delivered by a Doctor With a History of Mistakes Inspectors found that an anesthesiologist at a Brooklyn hospital made numerous errors in administering epidurals. Some were life-threatening. One was fatal.
