Is this an aviation incident?[edit]

A couple days ago, I noticed that this page was referenced in {{Aviation accidents and incidents in 1927}}, but did not contain that navbox and then added it to the page.

Then, User:BilCat removed the navbox, with the edit summary of "people are not accidents". If people are not accidents, the why is this page in Category:Aviation accidents and incidents in 1927 and why is it referenced in {{Aviation accidents and incidents in 1927}}? Also, why does Moncrieff and Hood disappearance, a similar example of people disappearing in a flight, have the {{Aviation accidents and incidents in 1928}} navbox.

It's a matter of semantics. However it's titled, Noel Davis and Stanton Wooster were fatalities in the crash of their Keystone Pathfinder. So if the article was titled 'Keystone Pathfinder crash of April 1927', it would be the same instance. Though both men were service members in the US Navy, their claim to fame and remberance is that they were vying for the Orteig Prize and crashed and died trying. Another example is the Fonck crash of the previous September 1926 titled 'Sikorsky S-35' in which two of Fonck's men were burned in the crash. Their names were Charles Clavier and Jacob Islamoff and if the article had been called the Rene Fonck 1926 crash, it would be the same thing, a plane crashed and two men died.Koplimek (talk) 14:51, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
