The Stately Homes[edit]

Can we have chapter and verse for listing "The Stately Homes of England" in Words and Music (as opposed to the later Set to Music)? To the best of my knowledge NC wrote it in 1937 for Operette (prod. 1938). Tim riley (talk) 08:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Later: I have removed the reference pro tem, along with Marvellous Party - another number in the revised show but (I think - but will check today) the original. Tim riley (talk) 09:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the case, we should clarify, in the Set to Music article, which numbers were heard there that were not in Words and Music. -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:10, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think we can do that (only three are listed in the Coward Lyrics volume, though there may be others like The Stately Homes that he imported to Set to Music from other shows) but what we can't easily do is say which songs from Words and Music were dropped in Set to Music - though we know Mad Dogs and Englishmen was (why?) Thanks for chasing down the song list here. I thought the list looked a little short! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:27, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Run length[edit]

The reference to the Times in fn 2 confirms the closing date, but not the total length of run. Where does the number 164 come from? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.27.34 (talk) 16:03, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(More: the number seems independent of the first run in Manchester) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.27.34 (talk) 16:09, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
