Name confliction & webcast

[edit]

ABC now has another web-based program caleld "World News Now", which is NOT the same as the overnight news cast. Further, the webcast of the overnight "World News Now" is no longer being offered. The article needs updating. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.222.175.89 (talk) 04:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

That's ABC News Now, which is 24/7, and formerly offered on digital subchannels of ABC affiliates until February or March 2005. MMetro (talk) 08:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anchor pairings

[edit]

Does anybody happen to know the anchor pairings from between 1997 to now? Searches on Google and MSN are not helping me. Thanks. Thistheman 18:19, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not exactly able to fill the gaps, but hopefully help with the present unknowns. From www.abcmedia.net, Ron Corning joined on August 3, 2004. Heather Cabot joined on January 18, 2005, unable to ascertain when she left and Taina Hernandez joined.--White Pony | Θαλκ 07:59, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Exit Ron Corning, Enter Hari Sreenivasan

[edit]

Ron Corning recently left WNN and WNTM... and Wiki only credits Taina Hernandez as the current co-anchor... isn't Hari Sreenivasan the new co-anchor, or are they just using him temporarily????

It looks as though he may be a permanent replacement for Corning---for the time being anyway. By the way, what kind of name is Hari Sreenivasan? I mean, what cultural background is he from? Thank you. 65.7.36.194 07:15, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He's from India. Both the first and last names are common Indian names. Thistheman 19:26, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BBC

[edit]

I only recall BBC presenting only financial news. When did they start doing the general news? Were they ever 2 separate segments? Wl219 09:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup Tag

[edit]

I added a cleanup tag to this article, as it includes some outdated information, and way too much detail in certain sections (such as the National Temperature Index). Weathermandan 03:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Current Show Anchors

[edit]

Since last week, including today 1/28, Ryan Owens has not been anchoring on World News Now. They are also using a generic announcer intro with no anchors named. I updated the top of the article to note that Jeremy Hubbard has been on with different co-hosts since January 21st. I'm wondering if abc might name two new full time anchors in the near future? As of 12/23/18, Kendis Gobson has left the show.Nirbok085 (talk) 09:03, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As of 10/08/20, the show has been pulled from the NYC Metro and Philadelphia markets in some fashion. Some users on Facebook say they get only a half hour or hour of the show now. I'm in the NYC Metro area and it's no longer listed, the first News program to start is America This Morning at 4am. ABC World News Post: "PROGRAMMING ALERT: Many of you have contacted us about programming changes made by your local station. A reminder: you can always watch World News Now & America This Morning on ABC News Live beginning at 1:30 am ET every weekday. You can find ABC News Live on ABCNews.com, the ABC News mobile apps, and on Roku, Hulu Live, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire. Thank you for your support!" https://www.facebook.com/ABCWorldNewsNow/posts/10160138877990278 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burntpsilocybin (talkcontribs) 05:35, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As of 10/20/20, According to watching it live on the App, it starts at 2:00am EST now not 1:30am ET, kind of dumb not to update the FB post / make new post Psilocybin (talk) 06:35, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
