Fleeting rather than noteworthy
[edit]The recent AfD was closed as "no consensus" on the basis of what the admin cautioned regarding the "recent potentially noteworthy events" of a sex-tape being leaked a few days ago. Whatever momentary fame the subject might have enjoyed from this tape and its publicity may have already evaporated though. In last night's monologue, Leno briefly joked about the tape. While the two women (Hiroko Mima and Anya Ayoung-Chee) were actually called out by name (they're notable), Wyatt was simply referred to as "an unidentified man". His 15 minutes of fame could very well have passed already. Note that there are still no real WP:RS for this article, only links to Wyatt's own PR websites. - Update. His "sex-tape" saga was only momentarily in the mainstream news, but now seems to have been stricken even from the gossip/tabloid sector. There's very little in the news more recently than a few days after the tape surfaced, for example the top hit in Google News is from the 18-th of November in TMZ – no national publication seems to have carried anything substantial since then. Why? That article (along with most others) basically reports that Hiroko Mima is not the third person in the video. Evidently, the notoriety was only because people thought that Mima and Chee were both in it. Nobody cared about Gallery – indeed he often was not even named. That article further describes Gallery's attempts to keep "his" story in the news, but whatever leftover focus still remains seems to now have shifted solely to Chee. I'm afraid this is a textbook case of WP:BIO1E non-notability for Wyatt Gallery. The article still also lacks WP:RS. Unless there's any change in notability status and sources, I'll place corresponding tags on this article in a week or two. The only factor that saved this article from deletion in the recent AfD was uncertainty about the sex-tape story, so its resolution would probably clear the way for consensus on this article in a future debate. December 2009 Tagging
[edit]Article has been tagged per the following concerns: (1) This BLP still lacks any WP:RS – the only references are to the subject's own public-relations-type websites. (2) The "sex tape" escapade, newsworthy for a few days, has now faded into obscurity. As noted above, the recent AfD was closed as "no consensus" on the sole possibility that this tape would confer some substantive level of notability, but it evidently has not. It now seems clear that this episode is a WP:BIO1E, again raising the notability question. Respectfully, Agricola44 (talk) 16:33, 22 December 2009 (UTC).
