Fair use rationale for Image:Screenshot of X2 The Threat game.jpg

[edit]

Image:Screenshot of X2 The Threat game.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:17, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Factions

[edit]

I just pared the "Factions" section down a bit. Now that there's a whole page on precisely this, I don't think this section is needed. As most factions/races exist across multiple games, it makes more sense to have an article on it, rather than having largely the same info redundantly duplicated across each game article. As such, I'm considering deleting this section unless someone can make an argument for keeping it. The Zig (talk) 21:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

[edit]

I've moved the article back to its official name per the guidance at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (video games), which states that unofficial titles are not acceptable. The rationale for moving in the first place was that users may find ² difficult to type, but this is negated by the redirect. AJCham 04:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support For the same reason that Alien³ was successfully moved to Alien 3. Unless the title is actually pronounced as X squared I don't see any reason not to consider the current stylization to be anything but decorative.--174.93.167.177 (talk) 02:43, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: As you can see above, I had previously undone this move a few years ago. I have a better understanding of naming policies now and see I was incorrect to do so. AJCham 14:41, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
