  • Both articles are sufficiently new - one is brand-new, and the other was 5x expanded. Character count is good for both. Both articles have no policy-related issues, including POV and CV, and are cited appropriately. Hook is interesting and cited in both articles. I see no issues here. Well done! ♠PMC(talk) 23:42, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PMC, I have added a photograph to both the article and the nomination, so please review that too. It was taken and uploaded by an aquarist whom I asked for it on Facebook. Surtsicna (talk) 19:19, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The image looks good and I don't doubt the provenance. I have to ask - had the image already been published on Facebook? Or is this a brand new image? ♠PMC(talk) 19:51, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the class of Xiphophorus nigrensis to "c". Stubs are not eligible for DYK and it was not a stub. Bruxton (talk) 19:58, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good question, PMC. No, I did not find this exact image on Facebook. I found videos and then contacted several people to see if they could be bothered to take photographs, register on Wikimedia Commons, and upload the photographs. Many are interested in sharing, but get disheartened when I tell them that they have to register and personally upload the photographs. (Yes, that is easier for them than those pesky email permissions.) Well, eventually one photograph did find its way onto the Commons! Surtsicna (talk) 18:11, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did a reverse image search and did not find this image in use anywhere else. Bruxton (talk) 19:24, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect! Surtsicna, the reason I ask is because I once asked someone from Insta to upload a photo to Commons, and I was asked by someone onwiki to have them make a comment on their Insta post to confirm they had done so, so that no one could claim it was not the OP uploading it. But since that isn't the case here we don't have to worry about it. Cheers :) ♠PMC(talk) 03:26, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bruxton & PMC, this message I got says that the nomination is incomplete. Might it be because the promotion was undone? Surtsicna (talk) 19:15, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Surtsicna: Thank you for the message, I have restored the approved nomination to the approved page. Bruxton (talk) 14:17, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
