Peer Review[edit]

Overall very informative article. It was interesting to learn more about such a unique beetle. In terms of edits, I formatted some sentences so that they seemed more credible/ less research papery. There were instances in which information was presented as “From a study…”. I had made it so that only the results of the study were included and its citation. Otherwise, important information was thoroughly described for the Xyleborus affinis, with proper grammar and syntax.Sbimal (talk) 03:14, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion of Ethanol in Laboratory Settings[edit]

There are a couple sentences about ethanol and its use in laboratory settings in the ecology section that don't quite fit anywhere else in the article. Maybe those sentences could be taken out, or a new section about research methods related to this beetle can be created. MichelleLi455 (talk) 18:28, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reorganization of sexual dimorphism section[edit]

The article was thorough, well-written, and covered a broad range of topics. Overall very interesting! I reorganized the sexual dimorphism section and added some new subsections, as the original text was very long and discussed similar or same topics in different paragraphs and in different places. I also rearranged some of the information to make a better flow. Another minor edit I made was that the first sentence of the sexual dimorphism section originally read “The phenomenon of sexual dimorphism within Xyleborus species…” I changed species to genus, as the information cites references discussing multiple species in the Xyleborus genus, and the following information then elaborates on the X. affinis species specifically. Review[edit]

I really enjoyed reading this article, it was organized very well and easy to follow. I felt that the information was very extensive and always on topic and relevant, there was very little I could change because I thought it seemed complete the way it was. I changed any language/vocabulary that I felt was too inaccessible for the average wikipedia reader, replacing them with more common words that still get the job done. I also went ahead and added more information to the introduction of the article about their highly notable sexual dimorphism. I thought it would pique the interest of the reader as well as point out something that is very integral to the development of the beetle. Great job!!
