Kurz gesagt: Ihr habt ja keine Ahnung ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.181.112.127 (talk) 21:34, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changed Importance for Latvian History Project to high. Reason: Bersin is the most important exponent of the lativian communist party during the russian civil war. --85.181.117.225 (talk) 11:50, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No Longer Stub Class[edit]

I'm pulling down the "Stub Class" banner, since it's beyond that now. Carrite (talk) 19:38, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I mad no change. But this article contains a huge error. There are two Jan Berzin. One was a diplomat, the otherone was chief of the GRU and in Spain. You made a single man of two different men.Alain Campiotti (talk) 10:54, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting back 5 years[edit]

In relation to the revert which removed 5.5 years of information from the article, it is in relation to this. I hate having had to do it, but to ensure accuracy in our articles it had to be done unfortunately. 77.253.34.14 (talk) 18:32, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jānis Bērziņš (politician)Yan Karlovich Berzin – Even though ethnically a Latvian, he rose to prominence as a Soviet politician, where the de facto language was Russian, thus it makes sense to use the Russified form, which many of the English-language sources do (for example, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. • Support per detailed nomination by a longtime member of Latvian Wikipedia as well as per his subsequent comment which submitted the names of seven additional Stalin-era Soviet Union-based Latvians referenced by their Russian name forms. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:08, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Does appear to be his commonest name in the sources. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:39, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
