Alcoholism

[edit]

I reverted another editor's deletion of the alcoholism paragraph as her problems were well reported. (I added a link anyway). However, all the sources I have say the incident happened in 2002, not in November 2003. Was there some sort of follow-up to the events that led to Witchblade's cancellation? If so, that information needs to be sourced and cited, as does the apparent reason for her problem. 23skidoo 19:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yes, on November 24, 2003, she was ordered to enter a substance-abuse treatment program. Kingturtle 02:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wasn't she in farscape?

Not from what I rremember. I think you're thinking of the English actress who later apeared in Stargate SG1... --Amedeo Felix 15:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beginnings

[edit]

I put this out there, because I just happen to have this knowledge. I'm not sure it's necessary for this article or not, but it is a fact about her. She went to IS70 (the IS stand for Intermediate School for non Americans, it's roughly the same level as Junior High School - i.e. between Elementary and High School) in Chelsea, Manhattan, New York City in the early 80's. I base this on the fact that I was a classmate and neighbour to her back then. Don't know where she went to High School though (always surprised she didn't go to La Guardia High School like I did - for Performing Arts in her case - however she didn't). --Amedeo Felix 21:52, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The DMOZ search template, and by implication all DMOZ search links, is being considered for deletion because it violates WP:ELNO #9. Anyone interested in discussing the fate of Open Directory Project (DMOZ) search links is invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion#Template:Dmoz2. Material in need of sourcing

[edit]

I'm moving this material here until it can be sourced:

After growing up in Greenwich Village, New York City, Butler went on to study at Sarah Lawrence College in 1987, where she majored in liberal arts. Nightscream (talk) 02:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Undue weight

[edit]

This article seems to contain far too much fine detail on past brushes with the law, and especially detail on charges to boyfriend, of which I think the latter should be removed entirely. This overly-detailed focus on substance abuse seems to contravene WP:UNDUE and should be trimmed down to a level commensurate with a relatively short WP:BLP of an actress. Nick Moyes (talk) 23:49, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This issue is overly long and detailed. We're an encyclopedia. We write short articles about the very most central information. Is her repeated legal troubles relevant for her public persona? Probably. Details such as the exact sum of the bail, where to appear and on which date for each individual time? Name of the hospital? Spitting on an officer? I'm trying to shorten it to a reasonable length while keeping the relevant information: a) repeated substance abuse and b) this leading to legal problems. /Julle (talk) 23:58, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, didn't see Nick Moyes posted about exacty the same just a few minutes (after I had first scanned the talk page) before I wrote this. Anyway, I fully agree. /Julle (talk) 00:03, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the level of detail about legal problems and substance abuse was excessive, but complete removal of this content is not justified. Thanks to the editors who trimmed it way back. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:05, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
