Recent edits

[edit]

Recent edits to this page have (twice) removed from the lead the fact that this a German breed of chicken – it was bred in Germany, by a German breeder. Of course at least some of the original breeding stock came from Japan, where selective breeding for long tail-feathers is an art form. There are many remarkable Japanese chicken breeds; this is not one of them. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:29, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see this after I post below, I make some adjustments to address your points. I don't understand why you remove Edo link from first paragraph to restore link to article that does not exist in English Wikipedia. I hope modified version you will find agreeable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 魔導騎士 (talkcontribs) 16:36, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

[edit]

Justlettersandnumbers Can you please explain why you are removing referenced information with edit summary "please don't remove referenced material form the page without discussion"? Do you decide what the page is about? Everything I added was cited and you removed important historical links such as to Edo Period with edit summary "this page is about the German breed". That is not what the sources cited in the article say:

It is not known whether he created the red-saddled colouring by cross-breeding, or if birds with that colouring had been brought from Japan; it is no longer found there

Your edit removed referenced information and restored information that is contradicted by the cited content in the article. I am restoring previous version again, please do not continue to revert without reviewing some sources.
