Notability[edit]

By adding the latest sources, I think it now meets the first criteria in Wikipedia:WEB#Criteria. I'm more focused on the role of the website for translating the Japanese news to English (online and in real-time) for people who are in Japan yet do not speak Japanese or people who have relatives in Japan and want to get the latest news. Most of the followers say that their national/local news stations exaggerate the news or report false information for mis-translation from Japanese sources. The followers of the broadcast also mentioned the Hosts' not sleeping much for the last couple of days just to report more for her/his audience. I find this kind of news reporting -first hand since they report from Japan, yet second hand since they translate from their latest local news stations- noteworthy, thus I've created the page on wikipedia, not to advertise the site but to report on its achievements (about two thousand followers, seen more than four thousand at one instance, Reuters have seventeen thousand followers at the time of writing for comparison) and efforts. I'm not to sure about this Wikis guidelines for notability (I'm mainly on German Wikipedia), but I would suggest that Katz' station has certainly become noteworthy in a small way; perhaps as an aside in a larger article on the media reporting on the Fukushima Incident, if not in an article dedicated to his station. I, however, support this stand-alone article because he has been featured on a number of US radio stations as a correspondent and has provided many information much quicker than mainstream western media and press agencies; as such, he may also serve as a good example of Citizen Journalism, providing an efficient information source. Anecdote: I've been translating a lot of Japanese News myself and have relied heavily on Katz for cross-checking and references - and I know that a couple of Journalists acquainted to me have done the same.
