Untitled[edit]

A few notes on my recent edits, lest others take offense (or more likely offence). The URL given on the box is yorkshiretea.co.uk; the other sites simply link to the this site and have little or no information of their own. (Also, there are no apostrophes in either Bettys or Taylors.) And I reverted the seemingly Commonwealth English "Taylors have" because of its awkwardness to American ears and the fact that the company uses singular verb construction on its website (which is clearly designed for UK readers and thus I assume is using Commonwealth English).

Also, am I the only one who thinks the anecdote about Safeway adds little and should be removed? Or at least substantiated? I defer to the judgement of others. Severinus 05:22, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:YTea.gif is being used on this article. Picture of teabag[edit]

Hello. I have re-added my picture of a Yorkshire Tea bag, which was removed in 2010 without much explanation by an unregistered account with just seven edits. I had added the picture in in 2007, and everyone seemed to be happy with it. Please explain here if you think the picture should be removed. I have a hunch this may simply have been vandalism... I am an idiot and I admit it. Due to a medication screw up, I have actually, truly, lost cognitive function, so please forgive me here. I just noted that the wikipedia article for Angela Lansbury says she is a fan of Yorkshire Gold as well and I don't know if that should be added here or how to do it. Use of the world "Romanticised"[edit]

This admittedly unimportant comment is to ask about the use of the word "Romanticised" is relation to the "romanticised images of the Yorkshire Dales" that appear on the packaging. Although there is one meaning of "Romanticised" that suggests that the collage of images present a story which is correct, regrettably in modern times the word "Romanticised" is more likely to mean (to Wikipedia readers) that the artwork on the box is somehow a nostalgic dream of what Yorkshire was once etc etc.

I can claim, with vast quantities of self gathered photographic evidence that the box of Yorkshire Tea is so accurate it is closer to Photo realism than any impressionism or romanticism. Yorkshire is HUGE and the area of mill chimneys and Lowrey (far more romanticised) is very small when compared to the rural area. If I look out of my window right now I can see a view which looks as if it's off the Yorkshire Tea Box. I could drive from this point for two hours solid and all the landscape I passed through would be like the Yorkshire tea box. The sheep, the dry stone walls, the Cricket, the Houses, the colour of the landscape are totally realistic on the box. I feel that calling this "Romanticised" is some kind of wrong and indeed negative assumption that all this beauty has gone from the world. I am not a Wiki Editor. This is a recommendation. Andy

Having failed to take enough Proper Tea with me on a lengthy trip to Abroad I was delighted to find Yorkshire Tea on sale in the branch of Safeway in Smithers BC.
