Asian Riff

[edit]

The article for Asian Riff mentions that it is used in this song but I do not recall where. If someone could inform me how it is used, it would be appreciated. Backstab55 09:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The whistling in the song and the first half of the "call" of the melodic verse suggest the riff, but it's distinctly syncopated and (purposely?) sharp in places, so it feels just like coincidence. 75.144.29.74 08:28, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sampled Source

[edit]

The entire track (drums, bass, whistling, percussion) except for the vocals and strings is sampled from a 60's or 70's funk/soul tune. I heard a rare grove DJ play it. I remember it had the lyrics "so get ready," almost like the Temptations version of "So Get Ready," but with the exact instrumentation of "Young Folks." I can't find any info on the web sighting this sample, but it would be great if this was added to the article once we know the artist and title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NickD (talkcontribs) 02:49, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drumming

[edit]

I am currently listening to You Baby by The Turtles, and just noticed that the drumming in it is very similar to that of Young Folks. AmericanLeMans (talk) 02:15, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
