Assessment

This is clearly no yet a B class article. There are not references, in-line citations or even external links. And also little that asserts notability. All these need addressing at some point. :: Kevinalewis : ^{(Talk Page)}/_(Desk) 08:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The book won a Newbery Medal, a major literary award, which by itself means this article satisfies the notability criteria of WP:NBOOK. The most immediate problem is the instructive lecture/essay-like tone of the article (hypothetical-person statements like "One who knows..." and "One can see...", plus subjective asides like "...which should be no surprise...").
