Hammer Controversy[edit]

The object on their logo doesn't look like any hammer I've ever seen. To me it more closely resembles a hatchet, although I recognize that's just my personal POV and has no place in an encyclopedia.

The NPOV way is to state that the logo is a hand holding an object, and that the group's official explanation is that the object is a hammer and that the hammer is meant to honor Charles Martel.

Critics in one of the sources state that the logo is too close to the fasces, which features a hatchet instead of a hammer. I can definitely see the resemblance, but once again I'm not going to add my own POV. I'm going to say that there is currently a disagreement as to what the logo actually depicts, and leave it at that. Feel free to provide feedback. Stonemason89 (talk) 12:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May we see the logo? Rather than having little more to go on than the relative volume of the 2 sides yelling "hammer!" and "Fasces!" back and forth, I think us readers should have a chance to see for ourselves. 71.62.26.205 (talk) 03:27, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thing is, I don't know if the logo is acceptable under the GNU Free Document License or not. Wikipedia is very, very strict regarding which images can or cannot be used. There's a similar discussion on Talk: The Political Cesspool, for example.Stonemason89 (talk) 16:01, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not great with HTML, but I believe that since it has been documented in various news sources the Marcus Epstein controversy should be present on this page. It is part of the controversy surrounding this great and there fore valuable information for anywhere researching them. I think in fact he may have been on the page, but was deleted by the group as it seems that many edits have been done with people without Wikipedia user names. Tancredo incident[edit]

Charles Martel[edit]

I know Kevin DeAnna, YWC's founder, and I don't think there's a relation. It's quite plausible, however, that both draw inspiration from a military figure who defeated Muslims in Europe. --BDD (talk) 01:38, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship with White Nationalists[edit]

The ADL and SPLC are not objective or reliable sources of information. If you have reliable evidence for such "connections," you are encouraged to include it, however libel and vandalism will be removed on site. With all due respect to your personal opinion, both the ADL and the SPLC are considered to be reliable sources, not only by Wikipedia but also by the FBI and national media. Even if you reject the ADL and SPLC as reliable, I have seen no one dispute that, prior to founding the Traditionalist Youth Network, Matt Heimbach founded (and was president of) the YWC chapter at Towson university -- see for instance the school's paper, http://library.towson.edu/cdm/search/collection/towerlight/searchterm/Heimbach/order/datea, which both reported on YWC being granted recognition, and also carried contemporary editorials by Heimbach decrying "white genocide". 2601:647:4501:2510:E834:F93:ECA7:3141 (talk) 01:19, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Towson University Chapter[edit]

The chapter at Towson University is no longer recognized by the administration.
