A belated note:[edit]

The source of the article is the Japanese article on Yushima Seido. Bathrobe 06:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changping[edit]

wasn't the birthplace of Confucius. It was a battlefield in a different province.

Is this just a Japanese confusion? That should be noted here.

Is this an East Asian legend doubted by scholars? That should be noted here and on Confucius's page.

Is this really the name of the particular village outside Qufu where he was born? That should really be noted and cited on Qufu and Confucius's pages. — LlywelynII 00:11, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is no confusion because it's not the name of a village, but the (old) name of the area including the village, the full 魯国昌平郷辺境鄹邑, in Chinese something like 鲁昌平乡鄒邑 (sorry my Mandarin is a bit rusty) from which 昌平 have been extracted. I am removing the "dubious" claim. Tensaibuta (talk) 12:55, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
