Two Yusuf Kenans

[edit]

I think there are two Yusuf Kenans from the same era that are shown as one person in the Turkish Wikipedia article, the pilot one and one that sent letters to his wife. First of all, articles about the latter don't mention anything about piloting, which would be something very significant to miss: [1], [2], [3]. The photos used in those articles don't resemble the photo in this Wikipedia article either. Lastly, the letters sent were compiled into a book by the Bahçeşehir University, which is also cited as a source. First dozen of pages of the book are available on academia.org. Pages 3–4 detail the early life of Yusuf Kenan, which show that especially during the final months of 1911, he was active Italo-Turkish War. This causes a clash: the pilot Yusuf Kenan was sent to France for training from July 1911 to March 1912 so he could not have fought a war in the meantime and get promoted.
