Title should not include The definite article[edit]

Article titles should not contain the definite article, THE, without a good reason for doing so. What makes this Zakrzewski family, The Zakrzewski family as opposed to the Zakrzewski family? Or is this simply bad placement of wiki mark-up? The cited Polish sources do not seem to indicate that the definite article is necessary as part of the family name and use the in the ordinary sense of the definite article when referring to murders committed by Zakrzewski family members, rather than murders being committed by The Zakrzewski family members. In other words the definite article does not change the meaning of "Zakrzewski family" and is not capitalized in the sources. Since the notability for this family is their "Murders of the Lipów family", it might be better to write this article as an event and change the title accordingly. I am not seeking to move the article, yet, merely decide if the definite article is necessarily part of the title. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 02:09, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor moved this page without notice or discussion from "The Zakrzewski family" to "Zakrzewski family" after I made this comment. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:30, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
