– Similar to what we did a few months ago with the two Sam Mayer articles, I request we do the same for Zane Smith. It appears that on most days, the Zane Smith racing driver page gets more views (in the 20's or 30's) than that of the baseball player of the same name (in the teens). Being a NASCAR fan, the racing driver Zane Smith could potentially be on his way to have a lot of success/be a big name in the near future, while the baseball player Zane Smith seems like he was just average/another baseball player that wasn't standout or anything, plus he played way back in the 1980's and 90's, so not many people may know about him.

For comparison: Zane Smith (racing driver) page views: https://tools.wmflabs.org/pageviews/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&range=latest-30&pages=Zane_Smith_(racing_driver) Zane Smith (baseball player) page views: https://tools.wmflabs.org/pageviews/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&range=latest-30&pages=Zane_Smith

  • Oppose, no WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. I'd make a DAB at the base name.--Ortizesp (talk) 22:43, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose and support what Ortizesp suggests. Reasoning is iffy at best, pageview difference is only a handful on some days. Baseball Smith played over a decade in the majors, and had 215 decisions, so I'd hesitate on the "not many people know", you don't play 12 major seasons by flying under the radar. On the flip side, racing Smith hasn't made a start in what NASCAR considers to be their majors and may never, so I'd say less people know about him than baseball Smith. Rant over, I support making a DAB at the main name. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 00:01, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose A guy who won 100 MLB games as a pitcher is easily a bigger name than an ARCA driver who has yet to make a Cup Series start. Only reason Smith is getting more views at the moment is because he's active in his sport. --Bcschneider53 (talk) 00:11, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose and make a DAB page per Ortizesp. Oh, and by the way, you say, "Being a NASCAR fan, the racing driver Zane Smith could potentially be on his way to have a lot of success/be a big name in the near future." — I thought you said he was a NASCAR driver, now you say he is a NASCAR fan? • Oppose 1st, Support 2nd Neither are really the primary target if they get about the same page views, so just move Zane Smith (disambiguation) to Zane Smith. Jerm (talk) 21:16, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose 1st, Support 2nd and make the base name a DAB. That will minimise both mislinkings and the time and bandwidth it takes to get readers to the article they want. Andrewa (talk) 18:58, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
