Vítězslava Kaprálová

[edit]

There appears to be a problem in this article. Fibich died in 1900. The article lists Kapralova as his student, but she was not born until 15 years later, in 1915.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.63.1.39 (talkcontribs) 20:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, that was an error. According to the bio at the Kapralova Society website, Kapralova's teacher was Zdeněk Chalabala, not Zdeněk Fibich. I have moved that sentence to Chalabala's article. -- Pat Berry 19:41, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Marriages and Janáček

[edit]

I found this sentence very difficult to parse: "According to a review of one of his major operas Šárka ([1]) he married in all three times, his first wife having died, and again leaving his second wife for the librettist of the opera (whose subject is also well-known as treated by Leoš Janáček.)" That's way too much information to cram into one sentence. I rewrote it as a short paragraph about Fibich's marital history, correcting an error in the process (he doesn't seem to have married the librettist, so he only married twice, not three times).

The reference to Leoš Janáček had nothing to do with Fibich's marriages, and it's covered in the Šárka (Fibich) article. So I deleted it. -- Pat Berry 20:26, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zdenko is not a German name

[edit]

The form Zdenko, quoted as German one, has nothing to do with German language and German onomastics. Zdenko is a Croat name. It can be rarely found among the Czechs and Slovaks, as well as other Serbian or Croatian names (like Dušan, Milan, Miloš etc.), but not among the Germans. Give a look to Wikipedia in German - you are going to find several Croats with name Zdenko, but not Germans. --Inoslav Bešker (talk) 18:24, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
