Talk Page History[edit]

This Zeiss talk page was previously redirected to the Carl Zeiss AG talk page, but since Zeiss has been recreated as a standalone disambiguation page, I have restored its Talk page here. All previous content from this page seems to reside on Carl Zeiss AG Talk, some of it may belong there but some may belong here. I'm not moving anything since I'm not sure about that. Various Zeiss articles[edit]

There is a gap in the history of the Zeiss companies, nicely summarized at http://www.zeisshistorica.org/companies.html as an example. This is not addressed at Carl Zeiss AG which is very present-tense and focused on a few products. Perhaps an article on Zeiss companies or something similar, that could trace the companies and their relationships pre- and post-1945? I'm not qualified to do more than add a stub. 2013 brand name change[edit]

As of 2013, Carl Zeiss AG will market its products under a brand simply called "Zeiss". "Zeiss" is therefore now the correct name to refer to the branding of such products, and likely the most intended result when simply wikilinking Zeiss. I therefore think it might be sensible to let Zeiss direct to Carl Zeiss AG and move this page to "Zeiss (disambiguation)" as well as add a disambiguation note at the top of that page.

Note of caution: This is not the place to speculate on whether the company itself will also change its name, as this will not be relevant to Wikipedia until and unless it happens.
