Illustration of Etiquette

[edit]

I'm not sure the image in the upper right is appropriate for this page, since as far as I know there is no time during seitei-style reiho that the sword is horizontal with the grasping hand in front of the swordsman's face like that.

The above comment seems to have been made in 2008. There is an additional comment on the image's talk page, dating to 2011: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_talk:Iaido_drawing_salute.jpg
Based on ZNKR Seitei Iaido manual, 2009, 5th edition, pages 7 - 10, (search google for "znkr iaido manual", to find a PDF a of it), and based on my own experience as ranked practitioner of Seitei Iai, the comment made on the images' talk page is correct, and left-most cell of the image depicts a situation that does not take place in ZNKR Seitei Iai etiquette. Consequentially, I am going to remove this illustration.

Additionally, I feel that the image can be corrected and used again with this article, if the left-most cell of the image is removed, while keeping the center and right cells. However, I am not good with image editing. Anyone?

Shiai?

[edit]

Referring to the text "Although not all kendo dojo teach seitei iaido, the AJKF uses them as a standard for their exams and shiai". Why is shiai mentioned here at all? There is no shiai in iaido. Furthermore, this sentence and the following sentence are not supported by the text quoted.
