Expanding scope of the article

[edit]

Zhytomyr Oblast has seen few incidents on its territory during the war. Four villages were occupied and some 52 people died (at least as of 31 March), which is low in comparison to most other occupied oblasts. The oblast has been shelled some 80 times, including in other cities other than Zhytomyr such as Korosten and Ovruch, towns which also add up to the 52 people figure (source to all this info: [1]). A wooden church in a village was also destroyed [2]. I propose expanding the scope of this article to cover anything that happened on Zhytomyr Oblast during the invasion. The shellings of Korosten and Ovruch or a separate article for the occupation of the oblast as it has been done with others are probably not notable. This article as it is right now isn't too impressive anyway. Super Ψ Dro 09:59, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2022 Zhytomyr attacksZhytomyr strikes (2022–present) – Most strikes covered in the article were air strikes or missile strikes. Also the strikes were not finished in 2022, per cited sources. • Support move to Zhytomyr attacks (2022–present) There has been information added for 2024, so we can say 2022–present. However, a significant amount of the attacks covered in the article are bombing or shelling, (which would be included with "attacks" in the title) meaning we shouldn't limit the scope of the article to just "strikes". Oppose There is no indication from the article that the strikes are ongoing, with the last discussed strikes taking place in an unspecified time in 2023. Maybe we could instead move to something like Zhytomyr attacks, in a similar fashion to the Vinnytsia missile strikes article. We shouldn't limit the scope to missile strikes, as shelling is mentioned in the article. Gödel2200 (talk) 19:54, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
