Jones quote[edit]

The long quote from Jones muddies the waters. If land or property is involved, it’s hard to construe this practice as usury. But Doherty explains that over time the practice involved the exchange of a sum of money in return for periodic payments. With that, Luther’s argument makes sense. Sharecropping[edit]
