What do you mean Jeremy's not interested in being a musician? He writes songs, he practices them, he seeks critique from his parents and friends, and he performs. And what do you mean he's not in a band? His band, most recently called Goat Cheese Pizza performed at a battle of the bands and practices twice a week at Jeremy's house. I think the context is saying that Jeremy doesn't consider "musician" and "Rock God" to be the same thing. He doesn't want to be a musician, he wants to be a "Rock God". Though, I agree, he is in a band. WackoBeaz 10:49, 6 September 2005 (EST)

Hype?

"Zits, however, is the first broadly successful comic strip to be published that centers around the life of a white American teenage character."

Sounds like hype to me. What about Harold Teen, which appeared from 1919 to 1959, and was made into two feature films? Or Archie, which debuted in a comic book but has been a successful comic strip for many years? Or Luann and Funky Winkerbean? They've all been around longer than Zits. I might even mention the enormously popular Li'l Abner, since Abner was undoubtedly a teenager until he married Daisy Mae (1934-1952). Gwil 19:39, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

Middle Name?

I was just browsing the article and noticed that Jeremy's middle name seemed to be added to his bio.

Could anyone tell me when we learned his middle name? I may be forgetting a recent strip or an old one, but I'd just like to know a rough estimate of when we learned it.

Albert Tang?

I was rewriting the 'visited places' section of the article. (Which I hope is a bit better) and I noticed a new name under the 'Character' section. Albert Tang. I kept it just in case it was real, but I can I have any confirmation on it?

I know this one. Albert appeared in one strip, centered right around Jeremy's birthday. In the strip, the teacher mentions that someone has a birthday soon, and Jeremy is hoping that the teacher doesn't mention his name. Then, the teacher announces Tang's birthday, only for Jeremy to say, "Hey, what about me?!" 68.188.191.9 13:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

IQ Test

I changed the fact noting that Jeremy's IQ is 38, because not only does his father get a 176, and Hector a 116, which Jeremy thinks is proof it was a faulty test (albeit it is only his opinion), it is mention elsewhere that he is a relatively bright student. --AeinSilverwolf 21:38, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I wrote that section, and I don't recall writing 38, but i think we should keep it that way. Its been revealed that he is a good student and a very social one, but it was far more often revealed that he was a bad student than a bright one. Besides, you can be a bright student and have a low IQ (i dont think it was 38 but i could be wrong). I think it should stay. DurotarLord 01:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, btw I almost forgot. Throughout the strips history Jeremy is revealed as doing really stupid stuff all the time. I think that the character of Jeremy has already been established as not a very bright kid (but, he is very funny), plus that one stirp did reveal him as having a low IQ which is very consistent with his character (He once thought he could get his parents to give him a new computer by pertending to be "distrubed". When they decided to help him by giving him more family time, he was completely shocked. Not the brightest of moves). DurotarLord 01:28, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Peer Review

I have painstakingly made major changes to this article in order to improve its readability and cite all relevant data. My ultimate goal is to see this thing as a Featured Article. I'll settle for a Good Article for now, however. This is what I want to discuss here. I am planning on submitting Zits for peer review in order to see what other users can help us on improving this article. That is a good idea, although I'm sure the FA people will want to see a lot more refs than we have. I'll do some work on copyediting and cutting out extraneous matters.--Wehwalt 19:53, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Just make sure you properly cite everything. Facts and anecdotes about characters are just original research without citations. There are already sections within the text that are blotted out due to lack of sources. Thanks. -- VegitaU 02:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Walt Duncan is not a pothead

I'm not really sure why this problem surfaced... seems pretty clear cut to me. In the comic you cited, Arsene, there is absolutely no reason to believe Walt Duncan is tokin' a doobie. He doesn't appear high at all and there is no tongue-in-cheek mention of marijuana.... Which makes any mention of it on the part of the reader, complete speculation. He may very well be smoking a cigar; and until I see him stoned in one of these panels, it will remain utter speculation whether or not he's a pothead.

And I doubt Jerry Scott is really going to have a main character, and someone who's supposed to be setting the example, in a globally-distributed newspaper puffing away on the cheeba. -- VegitaU 04:57, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Oblique references to Walt's experiences in the sixties and seventies have been made before in the strip (such as the Moby Grape concert mentioned in the article), and so it wouldn't be entirely unnatural for him to do something like this on occasion. It's true, however, that an entirely clear indication of marijuana use would be unacceptable to the strip's syndicate and most of its distributors, which is the explanation (assuming that it was intentional) for its being left undecided. -- Arsene 07:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

There was a strip where Jeremy found a bong in a box in the attic -- it turned out that Walt gave it to Connie, thinking it was a vase. I think that's a pretty clear indication that Walt was never a pot smoker. Fumblebruschi (talk) 05:24, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Tons of Original Research!

Most of the references are simply to a book supposed to be containing the strip being referred to - and as far as I can see this is not a valid way to source. As the article stands, about 3/4 should be removed since the cites are not clickable to reference. Any other opinions here? I don't want to mess with it and have someone get mad, but the article really needs to be cleared of all the WP:OR problems. Isn't Jeremy Duncan seventeen as of January 8, 2012?

The strip of January 8, 2012 depicts Connie making a reservation for Jeremy's birthday at an "Olive Garden" restaurant. Wouldn't that mean that Jeremy Duncan is seventeen as of January 8th, 2012? Ttk371 (talk) 10:02, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Dates for books

WHY?/Books I Have

Okay, is it just me, or does Hector look COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what he used to look like. Originally, he had glasses and what I call "The Original Hector Garcia Haircut" (And in the very early strips, he wore an "XS" shirt). Nowadays, he has a NEW haircut, NO glasses, and the verrrrrrrrry beginning of a goatee. Was it the Posse who changed Hector's appearence? Or did Hector change himself because he was tired of looking the same?

Oh, and another thing: You wanna know what Zits books I have? I'm working up a collection, but here's the books in mine:

Pierce

Zits#Pierce says "A running gag in the comic features Pierce pulling the fire alarm at school." i don't remember him EVER pulling the fire alarm.

Zits#Pierce also says "Unlike most of Jeremy's close friends, Pierce's last name has not been revealed"--so do we even know that Pierce is his personal name rather than his family name? Jeremy & Sara

As of yesterday, they're no longer. We should probably wait until the end of the week before moving on it, just to see how the fallout starts to settle (I mean, what are the cartoonists going to do - write Sara out of the cartoon? I think it's over between them. As of about a week later, no real resolution. They may get back together. She may still be a part of the strip. Uh, what? Mom's got black hair. Sara's a redhead. The cartoonist gives them differently shaped noses and differently shaped eyes. You can seem them together in the May 31, 2015 strip (as well as many others.)

Not really new material

I'm flipping through the "Peace, love and wifi, baby" book and I;m sorry but it's not new material. For example the comic in the book dated 1/19/2013 is the one up on their website. Maybe it contains new material but I haven't seen it yet. --69.85.88.55 (talk) 23:37, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
