Biologicals?

[edit]

Does anyone know what the biological payload was for this mission? --Captain Infinity (talk) 16:46, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Zond biological payload seems to have been the same for all of the missions- at least the same phrasing was used each time in the press releases. Does anyone know for sure? CFLeon (talk) 20:46, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the exact type and number of animals on the mission should be included in the text. The external link doesn't mention specific life forms, so still an open question. Randy Kryn (talk) 02:23, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Skip Re-entry

[edit]

At present the article says that Zond 6 both did, and did not, use skip re-entry.Thomas Peardew (talk) 19:46, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed this according to the information that I could find. Zond 5 apparently did not use the "skip re-entry"- at least the press for Z6 state that it was used first with this mission, so I used that as the basis. CFLeon (talk) 18:59, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

“orbit” in first paragraph.

[edit]

The last sentence of the first paragraph begins “However, after orbiting the Moon”. But, as correctly stated later, Zond 6 never entered lunar orbit. It was a fly-by mission which used the Moon's gravity to swing around the Moon and return to the Earth. John Walker (fourmilab.ch) (talk) 22:40, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How many turtles?

[edit]

Can't find the number of turtles in the sources. Thanks for any info, seems important as this was the second flight of Earthlings to the Moon following the flight and safe return of two tortoises on Zond 5 in September 1968. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:55, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
