Origin of the Zyayda tribe

[edit]

Skitash, the source that you defend is a self-published blog, which is neither published by a professional researcher nor by a journalist, it is advisable to keep the source that I defend on the one hand, because it is a reliable source (Document and ethnological information) and that it was published under the auspices of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities French, and the General Residence of France in Morocco. With this message I take the liberty again to modify the associated page, while waiting for your answer. Samso231 (talk) 06:07, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While that's true, blogs can be used in certain cases when the website "is known in the relevant subject circles as a source or authority", especially when reliable sources on the topic are scarce. However, your source is extremely outdated, dating back to 1907, and it doesn't even mention Zyayda. I suggest you familiarize yourself with WP:BRD and refrain from edit warring to push your point of view. Skitash (talk) 12:41, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In fact the source does not speak about Ziaida because it is not the good one, the one mentioning the tribe is ‘https://archive.org/details/villesettribusdu02missuoft/page/52/mode/2up’. The argument that the source is too old is not correct for me, the tribal system today in Morocco is archaic, many tribes having dispersed, can we still speak of ‘tribes’ properly speaking?
Is there still a tribal identity and organisation today? In any case, this was the case in the past and, in my opinion, this is why an older source concerning the tribes prevails over a modern source. Samso231 (talk) 13:22, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What's more, here's a more modern source that proves that the Ziaida are indeed Sanhadja Berbers. It's the gateway to the town of Benslimane, the tribe's chief town : https://archive.wikiwix.com/cache/index2.php?rev_t=20150824100052&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.benslimane.ma%2Fhistorique.html#federation=archive.wikiwix.com&tab=url Samso231 (talk) 13:28, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The "modern source" in question links to a passing mention on a Moroccan town's website that no longer exists. This is clearly not a credible source. As I've already said, a French colonial-era source that's over 100 years old cannot be considered reliable. See WP:AGE MATTERS. If you continue to edit war, I will have no choice but to report you. In the absence of a reply, I'm taking the liberty of modifying the page again and the one associated with the Arab tribes. Samso231 (talk) 10:56, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
