Tankaman District (Persian: بخش تنکمان) is in Nazarabad County, Alborz province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the city of Tankaman.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 25,190, in 6,313 households, when Nazarabad County was in Tehran province.[5]

In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[6]

The last census in 2016 counted 18,723 people in 5,800 households in Tankaman District,[2] by which time Tankaman-e Shomali Rural District had been established, and Najmabad Rural District had been transferred to the Central District.[3]
