Leuciscus polylepis (Steindachner, 1866)

Telestes polylepis is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Cyprinidae. It is a freshwater fish. It is found only in a 100-metre stretch of a Croatian stream.[clarification needed] Its natural habitat is rivers. It is threatened by new species of Pike being introduced to its stream as well as habitat loss. People[who?] think they may be extinct within the next few years as there are less than 80 left.
