Template:Basho/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

This template is used in the Sumo record box that lists the makuuchi record of a sumotori. It presents the record for a single basho, and should be inserted between transclusions of {{Sumo record year start}} and {{Sumo record year end}}. See the documentation for Template:Sumo record box start for an example layout.

There are four forms for calling this template:

No parameters — Fills in box with centered x to indicate basho that have not yet occurred or which occurred prior to the rikishi's promotion to makuuchi.
{{Basho}}
One parameter — Indication that rikishi did not participate in basho in Makuuchi division due to demotion or injury:
{{Basho |JURYO}}
{{Basho |MAKUSHITA}}
{{Basho |SANDANME}}
{{Basho |JONIDAN}}
{{Basho |JONOKUCHI}}
{{Basho |BANZUKEGAI}} (off the banzuke)
{{Basho |MAEZUMOU}}
{{Basho |KYUJO}} (injured)
{{Basho |SUSPENDED}} (Rank should be supplied, but is optional. Record will be listed as 0-0-15 unless otherwise specified)
{{Basho |QUARANTINED}} (Forced to sit out due to COVID quarantine rules)
{{Basho |INTAI}} (retired, still on banzuke. rank for basho may be listed. Record will be given as 0-0-15 unless otherwise specified)
{{Basho |EMPTY}} (equivalent to first form)
Named parameters — Basho record:
{{Basho |rank= |r-no= |tozai= |win= |loss= |absent= |yusho= |sansho1..8= }}
Where
  • rank: Code for name of rank:
    • JK = Jonokuchi
    • JO = Jonidan
    • SA = Sandanme
      • ST = Sandanme tsukedashi
    • MA = Makushita
      • MT = Makushita tsukedashi
    • J = Jūryō
    • M = Maegashira
    • K = Komusubi
    • S = Sekiwake
    • O = Ōzeki
    • Y = Yokozuna
      • YO = Yokozuna-Ōzeki
  • r-no: Number within rank, or H for haridashi
  • tozai: East or West as E or W
  • win: number of wins
  • loss: number of losses
  • tie: number of tied bouts. Valid only in modern era. See below.
  • absent: number of absences
  • yusho: Y if the rikishi won the yusho for this basho (applies only to makuuchi)
  • sansho1sansho8: Single-character code for sansho or kinboshi awarded:
    • O: Outstanding performance
    • T: Technique
    • F: Fighting spirit
    • *: Kinboshi. There may be more than one of these if there is more than one yokozuna. Include one * for each kinboshi won.
All parameters are optional
A set of unnamed parameters — This is the quickest way to add a basho record. They must be given in the order listed above. Insert empty values for any you want to omit. Trailing parameters you want to omit can be left off altogether.
Note: The unnamed parameter form is for simplicity in updating the records of active rikishi. Since a tie is not a valid result in modern sumo, it may only be given as a named parameter. In that case, it should be the last parameter supplied.
Note: Banzuke rank for kyujo or suspended rikishi may be given using named parameters.
