Template:Cathead English people by place/doc

This template is used in categories of the sort [[Category:People from *locality*]], such as [[Category:People from Farnworth]] or [[Category:People from Grays]]

It groups these categories as applicable:

• by local government district, e.g. [[Category:People from Bolton (district)]]
• by ceremonial county, e.g. [[Category:People from Greater Manchester]]
• by previous ceremonial county, e.g. [[Category:People from Lancashire (before 1974)]]

If the district parameter is |district=Bolton it will use the category in the example above, i.e. appending "(district)", provided that the category exists. If that category does not exist, then this template will omit "(district)" from the category name. If that still does not match the district name that is used in the Wikipedia category hierarchy, then it is necessary to specify it exactly, e.g. |district=Fenland District

It also adds [[Category:People by city or town in England]]
