5x expanded by Sportsguy17 (talk). Self nominated at 16:32, 25 January 2014 (UTC).
- Article is sourced and meets 5x expansion. However, the hook does not seem all that interesting without any notable large streaks, 8 is not that high. "despite" seems inappropriate, as the 19-13 record makes sense to me (11-13 outside of the 8-game streak is understandable). Consider a hook about it being Pitino's first season. QPQ review is missing.—Bagumba (talk) 06:40, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: -- I added a new hook/ALT1. Feel free to copy edit/accept it as necessary. Also, for my QPQ, see Template:Did you know nominations/Premier League Golden Glove. Sportsguy17 (T • C) 00:56, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Sportsguy17: QPQ is fine. My problem with ALT1 is that the article currently doesn't does say what, if any, impact there was on the season. I'd be OK if it can be shown to be more than something trivial; it would be more interesting for Pitino if he were up for DYK. If you want another opinion, I am ok with asking for another reviewer.—Bagumba (talk) 01:40, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: -- I've made an ALT2 in yet another attempt at this. It is well-sourced and it contributes to their season in a tournament, so it should work, no? Sportsguy17 (T • C) 02:34, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- I think mentioning National Invitation Tournament in the hook would qualify it for catchy. Also, the source doesn't mention it being a "desperation shot", only a bank shot.—Bagumba (talk) 06:09, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Bagumba:: Fixed -- It should be good now. Sportsguy17 (T • C) 12:18, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've created ALT3 for consideration. The National Invitational Tournament makes the hook more interesting so that it doesn't just seem like a random game on the schedule. I removed mention of Princeton because of 200 character limit, and I linked "bank shot". I'm going to let another reviewer make the decision.—Bagumba (talk) 19:37, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- While I'd like the article to be a bit longer, ALT3 sounds good and everything checks out on the article. Wizardman 20:07, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
