2021 Challenge Cup

  • ... that the 2021 Challenge Cup will not feature any amateur rugby league teams due to COVID? Source: BBC

  • article is new enough, long enough. Hook is alright and cited, but could include a reason as to why amateur clubs are excluded? Many readers may be surprised to learn that amateur clubs would normally have participated. I also note the number of participating clubs in the infobox appears to be unreferenced. Does the cup normally have more participants than 36? Could add {{Challenge Cup}} and {{2021 in rugby league}} too? The Rambling Man (Hands! Face! Space!!!!) 11:45, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
  • @The Rambling Man: Usually there are more amateur clubs including the Army, Police and RAF taking part but not this year. I have removed the 36 (the number in SL, RFLC and RFLL1) and added the templates. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 13:17, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
  • Like I said, it may not be interesting at all to people who wouldn't even expect to see amateur clubs playing in such a cup. At least I think the reason for the lack of amateur involvement should be expressed in the hook. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 15:37, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
