- I think ALT0 would be better with "officer" instead of member, it was not uncommon for pioneers to go into battle armed with axes.
- "Franklin cost the 2nd and 6th Missouri (Consolidated) 164, which was over 60 percent of the unit's strength.", I think there should be a "casualties" after 164?
I thought "ax" was the preferred American use, but a quick Google shows either is acceptable so it's probably is alright.
