Acanthosquilla derijardi
[edit]- ... that the mantis shrimp Acanthosquilla derijardi has a junior synonym named after Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand in reference to a childen's book she wrote? Source: "It seems the more appropriate to attach the name of Her Royal Highness to the present stomatopod, because in 1983 Her Royal Highness (under the pseudonym Waen Kaeo) published a book for small children, entitled Kaeo Chom Kacn, in the first chapter of which a stomatopod, somewhat similar to the present, plays a dominant role." doi:10.1163/156854095X00629 JSTOR 20105069 pp. 409–410

- Comment: A. sirindhorn is available (it is a scientific name which was published in accordance with the ICZN Code), but invalid (it's not the name currently used for the species) due to subsequent synonymization. Not sure if that means ALT1 is out or not, though.
