Adrianus Djajasepoetra
[edit]- ... that Adrianus Djajasepoetra is one of the first native Indonesians to be a priest?
Created/expanded by Bernardino Rakha (talk). Self nominated at 04:47, 21 September 2013 (UTC).
- Date, length and hook checks out. Second paragraph needs to be referenced. Leszek Jańczuk (talk) 10:34, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why the previous reviewer thought the hook was okay, since it is not mentioned at all in the article that Djajasepoetra was unusual in being an Indonesian priest, much less being one of the first native Indonesians to be consecrated as such. Either the facts in the hook must be added to the article and given proper inline source citing, or a new hook must be proposed. In any event, the second paragraph still needs to be sourced. - Note: I have pinged the nominator's talk page again, and have given a deadline of October 20 to respond here. None of the recent minor edits have addressed the issues I raised on October 6. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:21, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- Then should I change the hook?? User:Bernardino Rakha (talk) 01:13, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding. As I said above, you either need to propose a new ALT hook (add the new hook, rather than modifying the current one), or add new, sourced material to the article that supports the current hook. I'm fine with either approach: it's your choice. But one of these needs to be done soon. You also need to add an inline source citation to the second paragraph as noted above, per DYK requirements. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:27, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- Comment it is absolutely essential that you give the date of his ordination as priest. If this is a very significant event, then it must be stated in the introduction, before you get o to the full description of his life. I see that the date is known, because it is in the box. But it is the text of the article that needs to supply such information. The box only gives a summary. Amandajm (talk) 02:03, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- The new material added to the article by Victuallers over a week ago, while helpful in a number of ways including addressing the unsourced paragraph and the ordination date, does not say that Djajasepoetra was one of the first native Indonesian priests, merely that he was perhaps the second from Java to go to the Netherlands for his religious education who then was ordained. As Bernardino Rakha's most recent edit was the one asking about the hook above, now two weeks old, I'll ask Victuallers if he's willing to shepherd the nomination; if not, then I think it will have to be closed. - Thanks BlueMoonset for contacting me. However I was trying to help the author and the article. I haven't got the confidence to take the lead on this one. The article is a good addition but it does require an editor with some domain knowledge to improve it. Victuallers (talk) 11:21, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
