Affine symmetric group

  • ... that juggling patterns can be encoded in terms of a mathematical object called the affine symmetric group? Source: Section 1.2 of [1]: "We interpret these f [namely, affine permutations, the elements of the affine symmetric group] physically as follows. Consider a juggler ... [details omitted]. This mathematical model of juggling was developed by several groups of jugglers independently in 1985, and is of great practical use in the juggling community."
    • ALT1:... that the symmetries of the regular triangular tiling of the plane are described by the affine symmetric group? I am sure that I can produce a source for this if there is demand.
