Al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra[edit]

  • ... that al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra is credited with introducing iron stirrups to the warhorses of the early Muslim armies? Source: "He [al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra] was also credited with the introduction of metal stirrups into the Muslim armies." Hugh N. Kennedy, The Great Arab Conquests (2007), p. 243.

  • The article was promoted to Good Article status on May 27, 2019, so overall quality should be high. I have a couple of minor questions. First, the statement in the wiki article about the iron stirrups has a different citation. The citation provided here (Kennedy, p. 243) comes later in the paragraph. I think if you just add the Kennedy reference to the sentence that specifically states he introduced iron stirrups, then that would be fine. Second, can you have the hook match the article? Either use "metal stirrups" or use "iron stirrups" in both? I don't have access to this book, but accept reference is OK in good faith. QuakerSquirrel (talk) 15:21, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
  • @QuakerSquirrel: Thanks for the review, I made those adjustments. I still have to do the QPQ review. I’ll ping you when it’s done. Cheers, —Al Ameer (talk) 15:14, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
