Amethi (Lok Sabha constituency)

[edit]

5x expanded by Cowlibob (talk). Self nominated at 09:23, 3 October 2014 (UTC).

  • Too short. Before expansion, there was 496 bytes of text (excluding lists). After expansion, there is about 1740 bytes of text, about 740 bytes short. You can probably add that much text by adding demographic information, including number of electors. (See Oak Ridges—Markham for an example, albeit poorly phrased.) @Mindmatrix: How did you calculate the byte count for the prose so that I know I've added enough? I used Shubinator's DYK which said there was currently 3210 characters of prose (excluding the lists/tables). This correlates with page size/prose size tool as well. Cowlibob (talk) 21:50, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
I use wc, but I just noticed that none of the single-sentence paragraphs for each of the elections was counted. These contribute an additional 1480 bytes or so, giving about 3220 bytes total, close to what you state. I'll review the article. Mindmatrix 23:49, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Did you really want to state "...was shortlived as he died..."? Source #6 only refers to "Tamil Tigers", not "the militant organisation..."; this is a POV that should be removed (the article Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has a neutrality tag, so I won't use it to verify this claim). The ref for the last sentence of the intro only supports part of the claim ("represented by four members...", but not "represented by a member of the INC..."); the other part is substantiated by the rest of the article, but please try not to associate refs in this way. Per WP:DYKSG#D2, there should be "one inline citation per paragraph", including each of the single-sentence paragraphs for each election result. Other than that, the article is sourced to reliable references and well-cited. Hook is short enough and cited. Once these few minor issues are resolved, the article can be promoted. @Mindmatrix: I've improved the prose hopefully, cut the POV, Tamil Tigers is another name for the LTTE used by the media, removed the INC mention in the last sentence of lead, and added inline citations for each paragraph. Hope all issues are sorted. Thanks for the review. Cowlibob (talk) 08:44, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
Good to go. Thanks for the changes. BTW, I had no issue with the statement "represented by a member of the INC thirteen times out of the fifteen elections", only that the source associated to that sentence didn't make the claim. You can insert that elsewhere, as the election results section clearly supports the claim. Mindmatrix 14:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
